Between 1939 and 1945, Europe endured the biggest conflict the World has ever seen.
On
June the 6th 1944, also known as the D-Day, the Allies launched
Operation Overlord, which had the initial plan to capture Carentan,
Isigny, Bayeux, and Caen, and effectively led to the liberation of
France, and the successful invasion of German-occupied Western Europe,
opening way to what would later be the total victory of the Allies.
The
Battle of Carentan took place between 10 and 15 June 1944, in the
vicinity of and within the city of Carentan, France. It was held between
airborne forces of the United States Army and the German unified armed
forces.
The capture of Carentan was one of the most important moments
in the battle of Normandy, for it removed any danger that the Germans
might have been able to destroy the isolated Utah beach head because it
allowed the closing of the gap between the Utah and Omaha beachheads,
the last gap between the D-Day landing zones.
The “Saumor's House” model is based on the Normandie houses construction.
It is composed by three floors.
This model is a 28mm scale model, laser cut on 2mm and 3mm
MDF, with laser etched detail. Comes unpainted and unassembled and
features approximately 7.87" x 6.5" x 9.65" dimensions.
* Includes fittings for connection with cobblestone roads. The road shown on the images is for illustration purpose only and it's not included.
